Harrison Mackler, DMD, MS
Periodontist
Dr. Harrison Mackler graduated cum laude from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he was the only dental student in the country to receive a prestigious one-year Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellowship to study at the Forsyth Institute. Among other honors there, he received the American Association of Periodontology Student Award for Achievement in Periodontology. He has researched aspects of bone and dental tissue engineering at King’s College London Dental Institute, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, and Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He relocated to Chicago to graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago Advanced Specialty Program in Periodontics. There, he became experienced in all aspects of periodontal procedures including implants (from single-tooth to full-jaw, including “All-on-4”), bone grafts, root coverage grafting, and gum disease treatments. Dr. Mackler currently resides in Chicago and lectures internationally as faculty with the International Academy of Dental Implantology. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and stand-up paddle boarding on Lake Michigan.
